Property auctioneer Sutton Kersh Binstock has sold more than £5 million worth of property at its recent debut auction.
The company, which was formed at the end of last year, was delighted by the auction's results - they sold 80 percent of the properties offered, totalling an impressive £5,765,000.
Sutton Kersh Binstock's auctioneer and director, Andrew Binstock told Avenues:
"It was a fantastic day. About 200 people attended the auction and we sold 19 of the 25 properties listed. Our largest property was a freehold building in Wandsworth, which included a shop and an upper flat that went for £500,000, and the smallest lot was a studio in Bedford that went for £50,000."
"There was a huge amount of interest in a double garage with planning permission for a house in Bushey. We had dozens of inquiries about this before the auction and it sold for £32,000 above its guide price of £150,000."
Sutton Kersh Binstock is part of the Sutton Kersh group, a well-known property auctioneers based in Liverpool. Director Mr Binstock, who set up the Watford branch, has a great deal of experience. He spent two years at Allsops, the largest property auctioneers in the UK and conducted his first auction in February 2006.
"Holding a property auction is a fantastic buzz." he admitted. "As an auctioneer, you command the room and are in full control of what happens over the next few hours."
Sutton Kersh Binstock's next auction will take place at the Watford Remada Hotel on 23 May.
